Chan was born and raised in Macao to a Portuguese mother and Chinese mother.
In regards of the public school teachers, Chan said that the department will take the overall performance of the teachers as well as the interest of students, parent, teachers and schools into consideration, in order to propose the recruitment suggestion to the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau (DSEJ.
Chan said in a recent mobilization meeting that the project will be a priority on the SAR government's work agenda in the nexttwo years.
Chan said Macao's legal system has been strengthened since 1999 and is "very grateful for the tremendous support from the central government in the area.
Florinda da Rosa Silva Chan said after the sworn in ceremony that the government would earnestly consider the suggestion of the Commission of Audit on the printing demand.
Chan said over 1,000 eligible residents registered as voters merely on Monday, and she also urged those residents who are eligible and yet to register to complete the registration at the end of this year, when the registration period ends.
As for the clauses concerning local political organizations and groups, Chan said that the SAR government's stand on the matter is to protect their "common communications and contacts" with foreign organizations, which is also stated in the Basic Law.
