Secretary for Security Kuoc Va Cheong of China

Born in Macau, Cheong joined the Forças de Segurança de Macau (FSM) (or Macau Security Force) upon graduation from secondary school in l975.
As drug trafficking and drug consumption had both risen by 10 cases to 28 and 42 respectively, Secretary Cheong said the Public Security Police (PSP) were "highly concerned" about such activities and had "frequent raids to smash the crimes.
Cheong said that the government will add police forces in casinos to dispose of what happens there.
Cheong said that the three hotlines will be in service around the clock to provide more convenience for the tourists from worldwide.
Cheong said that they have sent delegates to the neighboring Hong Kong region to observe a security drill of the torch relay there.
Speaking during the press conference at his office yesterday, Secretary Cheong said the success of the Macau leg torch relay was contributed to by the Unitary Police Service, Public Security Police Force (PSP), Judiciary Police, Customs as well as the Fire Services which all made a tremendous effort in the preparation for the relay and the large number of police officers were sent to maintain orders during the event.
Mr Cheong said the security forces would improve their management and disciplinary rules in response to the changes in society.
With the rapid development of local gaming industry, Mr Cheong said more temptations would be inevitably created.
