Permanent Representative to the UN, New York Alfredo Lopes Cabral of Guinea-Bissau
Alfredo Lopes Cabral is the Ambassador to the United Nations for Guinea Bissau.
Cabral has represented his country at many United Nations system, international, regional and subregional meetings, conferences and summits, including those of the General Assembly, the Organization of African Unity (OAU)/African Union, the Non-Aligned Movement, and the Organization of Islamic Conference, among others.
Ambassador Lpes Cabral said that Venezuela has earned a bigger respect in Africa for 'having rescued Liberator Simn Bolvar's ideas.
Ambassador Cabral was out of country for two credential ceremonies at the White House on November 24, 1986 and February 10, 1987; he did not return to present credentials at those times.
Lopes Cabral said the international community continued to insist on the need for the Electoral Council and the authorities to address the method of calculation of Senate results.
Cabral was Director General, in the Office of Strategic Studies and Policy Planning in Guinea-Bissau's Foreign Ministry since February 2001.
