In a recent conference State Administrative Reform Minister Taufiq Effendi said Indonesia was continuing its vigorous efforts to make significant improvements in its investment climate.

After reforming the bureaucracy, Effendi said that it could be easier to get support for better pay and he also hoped the new laws would change mindsets.

The country`s target in 2009 was to rank 75th on the list of the most investment-friendly countries in the world, Effendi said at the opening of an international seminar on bureaucracy held by his office and the World Bank here Wednesday.

Speaking in Semarang, Central Java, Taufiq Effendi said most of the new recruits, totaling 250,000, would be seconded to local governments, and the remaining 50,000 would be employed by the central government.
