Minister of Displacement and Migration Abd al-Samad Sultan of Iraq

Asked whether his ministry has updated statistics on the number of Iraqis who returned from abroad, Sultan says that "some 19,760 Iraqi families returned to the homeland from abroad and from different governorates to their original places of residence in their own governorates this summer," adding that this return indicates that security has been restored to many Iraqi areas.
Asked to explain this mechanism that encourages Iraqi refugees abroad to return to their country, Sultan says that his ministry submitted a package of recommendations to the Iraqi Council of Ministers, which approved it and allocated 250 billion Iraqi dinars for the return of families.
The Sultan said that neither the army nor money could prevent death.
It is obvious that if the Sultan had persisted in his design, the result would have been gross dissatisfaction, misery and failure of the scheme.
