Permanent Representative to the UN, New York Steve Matenje of Malawi

A civil servant since 1980, Matenje had served as previously as the Solicitor General and Secretary of Justice.

Finally, Mr Matenje had submitted that the plaintiffs had no locus standi in the matters which were raised by the originating Summons.

Matenje took up the issue of the President first.
