Permanent Representative to the UN, New York Ahmed Khaleel of Maldives

Khaleel had served at the Permanent Mission of Maldives to the United Nations in New York in various other capacities since 1984.
Permanent Representative to United Nations, Ahmed Khaleel has called for the collective responsibility of the international community to combat the menace of terrorism, according to Foreign Ministry.
Khaleel was Chargé d’Affaires at his country’s Embassy in Tokyo, Japan (since December 2006.
Khaleel had his first tour of duty at the Permanent Mission in New York as a Third Secretary from September 1984 to April 1988.
Khaleel is married, with one child.
