Modibbo Umar has highlighted that the move was in fulfilment of the FCT Administrations pronouncement that it was prepared to construct a new abattoir for Abuja.

Modibbo Umar said the new ultra-modern city abattoir would be situated in Tunga Maje on land measuring approximately 15 hectares.

Modibbo Umar said that currently the existing abattoirs are operated by the FCT Agriculture and Rural Development Secretariat and would be rehabilitated and repositioned to better serve the residents.

In his response, the FCT Minster Dr Aliyu Modibbo Umar said his administration was working towards generating one thousand megawatts of electricity independently to boost commercial activities in the territory.

Aliyu Modibbo Umar has setup a committee for its actualization.
