Ibrahim said the federal government was worried by the low water level in the dams and shortfall of gas supply to the thermal stations.
On the water levels in the dams, Ibrahim said nothing can be done about it.
Ibrahim said that government would also encourage the 36 state governors to do something towards the enhancement of power supply, even as she stressed that the country has started to experience steady power supply with current level of 3,100 megawatts of electricity being distributed by the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN.
Fatima Balarabe Ibrahim has said that from 1999 to date, well over N500 billion has so far been spent in rehabilitating facilities in the Energy Sector as well as the National Integration Power Projects.
Ibrahim said government had received concrete proposals for investments in the power sector, which included the construction of a coal-fired power station, contract financing of some projects and others.
