But PNG Transport Minister Don Poyle said once one million kina ($400,000) had been secured from the Finance Department, the Air Accident Commission would be running within three weeks.
Poyle was speaking at the rally in the Eastern Highlands province, Australian Broadcasting Corporation radio reported Wednesday.
Poyle said he was saved by his body guards.
