President, Polish National Bank Slawomir Skrzypek of Poland

Slawomir Skrzypek was appointed by the Sejm to serve as the governor of the National Bank of Poland (NBP.
Since the end of September 2006, Mr Skrzypek has been the acting president of the management board of the largest Polish bank, PKO BP.
Nominated last week by president Kaczynski for a six-year term, Skrzypek is little known in financial circles.
Skrzypek is also qualified as a financial adviser.
Critics have said that Skrzypek is largely untested in the sector and far too close to Kaczynski, who was elected president at the end of 2005.
Skrzypek was deputy to Kaczynski when he was chief of the Polish audit court from 1993 to 1997, and again at Warsaw city hall from 2002 until 2005, when Kaczynski was mayor.
Although once responsible for the capital's finances, Skrzypek has little major banking experience.
Skrzypek has spent the past four months as acting chief executive of the state-owned PKO Bank Polski, the biggest Polish bank, after incumbent Andrzej Podsiadlo stepped down in September.
Skrzypek was sidelined when conservative ex-prime minister Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz was nominated in December to take over as chief executive of PKO BP.
After finding himself in the spotlight in recent days, Skrzypek has made a string of embarrassing slip-ups.
It will be something around 5 percent," Skrzypek said in Basel, Switzerland.
