Abdul Serry-Kamal said the Act would give the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) the independent powers to prosecute matters.

Serry-Kamal said the Act gives the attorney general and minister of justice the residual powers to terminate any prosecution that was not in the interest of the public.
