Minister of Economy and Trade Amir Husni Lutfi of Syria

Amir Husni Lutfi said in a meeting with Iranian Commerce Minister Massoud Mirkazemi that following the meeting of the two presidents, the Iran-Syria Supreme Committee met in Damascus to explore various ways of expanding bilateral cooperation.
In the same report, Syrian economy and trade minister Amir Husni Lutfi said the relationship had progressed from one of “reciprocal interest and political benefits” to become a “strategic alliance” paying economic dividends.
Lutfi said that the objective of convening the follow-up committee is to deliver on all pending issues, particularly the implementation of what has already been agreed upon at the last meeting of the high-level commission, which met in Tehran last year.
Syria and the regional states can help counter whatever economic embargo that may be imposed on the country," Lutfi was quoted as saying.

Minister of Economy and Trade Amer Husni Lutfi discussed on Wednesday with ambassadors Evan Zakar of Slovakia and Dia'a Nader of Venezuela ways of boosting economic and trade relations between them.
On the other hand, Lutfi said Turkey and Syria should cooperate in several areas such as energy, water and transportation.
Replying to a question, Lutfi said works on construction of a dam on the border between the two countries continued.
Lutfi said they were determined to increase relations with Turkey in every field.
