Speaking at the post-Cabinet press conference at Whitehall, Port of Spain, yesterday Housing Minister Emily Gaynor Dick-Forde said she recently signed the agreement for this million-dollar loan on behalf of the Government.
Gaynor Dick-Forde said a citizens security programme will be developed and will focus on 22 high crime communities through the financing of preventative actions addressing specific risk factors.

Planning, Housing and the Environment Minister Emily Gaynor Dick-Forde said the meeting was of extreme importance to Caribbean countries because we havehistorically not placed much emphasis on the collection of environmental statistics nor on information relating to socio-economic shifts deriving from the climate change phenomenon.
Gaynor Dick-Forde said planning standards different ministries over the years laid down policies that they did not follow.

Gaynor Dick-Forde said a Government Minister, however, should not entertain any unusual requests for development outside what is stated in the policy.
Gaynor Dick-Forde said a comprehensive report on sites with the most damage will be put together, and this will inform clearer guidelines to the planning issues involved and the short to medium-term contingency planning to put in place.
