Governor, Bank of Uganda Emmanuel Tumusiime-mutebile of Uganda
Professor Emmanuel Tumusiime-Mutebile has been Governor of the Central Bank of Uganda since 2001.
While Tumusiime-Mutebile praised anti-debt campaigning groups such as Jubilee 2000, which has publicised the issue globally, he said the solidarity of some other protest groups was misplaced.
BoU governor, Emmanuel Tumusiime-Mutebile said as the data system gets built up, the information will make loan processing simpler and faster, collateral requirements will be streamlined, default rates will be reduced and ultimately loans will become cheap.
