Minister of Public Health Feruz Nazirov of Uzbekistan

Nazirov said that a total of US $5 million had been allocated to Uzbekistan throughout the year as part of the "Healthy Family" project.

Anthrax cases were reported over the course of 2001 in the neighboringcountries of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan, but Uzbek HealthMinister Feruz Nazirov has said that no cases were reported inUzbekistan in 2001.

Nazirov said that in 2006 some 400 local physicians underwent professional training in clinics of Germany, Russia, Great Britain, Turkey, India and Egypt.
