Ambassador to the US Le Cong Phung of Vietnam

Vice Minister Phung said the meeting will be the last chance to save the Doha Development Agenda, a plan at the World Trade Organization that aims to lift less developed nations out of poverty through increasing trade with more developed countries.

Ambassador Phung said he would do utmost to lift the Viet Nam-US ties to a new height and increase cooperation and dialogues between the two countries in order to ensure prosperity, stability, peace and cooperation for the two peoples.

During the visit, Ambassador Phung met and spoke with professors and students at the Southeast Asia Studies Program on Vietnam's recent socio-economic development, the success of Doi Moi, or renovation, and on Vietnam - US relations.
