Mr Phuc said that the Government has asked EVN to think of the optimal solutions which can help settle the power shortage and avoid unexpected power cuts, which can cause bad consequences to the national economy.

The government will try to keep inflation at 25%, doubling the last years figure, said Chairman of the Government Office Nguyen Xuan Phuc said in a government monthly press briefing in Hanoi on September 4.

Inflation at 25% Phuc said Viet Nam faced too many difficulties in the past eight months, such as natural calamities, diseases, price fluctuation in the world market, etc.

Speeding up salary reforms Phuc said the government is discussing measures to boost salary reforms and the policy on paying allowances to low-income government employees.

Related to the East-West avenue project in HCM City, Phuc said Vietnam and Japan dont sign a judicial assistance agreement and Japans information is not sufficient but Vietnam is willing to cooperate with Japan to make clear the information that an official in HCM City took bribe of Japans PCI contractor.
