Minister of National Defense Phung Quang Thanh of Vietnam

Invited by Chinese Defense Minister Cao Gangchuan, Phung Quang Thanh is here on an official visit to China.

Later, Defence Minister Thanh was received by Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council (SPDC) Senior General Than Shwe, who appreciated the Vietnamese people’s support for Myanmar in its national building and development, especially in surmounting the consequences of Cyclone Nargis.

General Thanh said he believed that the people and army of Myanmar would overcome all difficulties to build up a wealthy and beautiful country, as well as a mighty army.
