Minister of Defense Sidney Sekeramayi of Zimbabwe

Sekeramayi is now said to be the 3rd candidate for Solomon Mujuru, the reputed king-maker of Zimbabwean politics, who is said to be behind Makonis bid, although he has neither confirmed nor denied it.

On January 7, 2009, The Herald reported that Sekeramayi had been appointed as Acting Minister of Mines and Mining Development following the dismissal of Amos Midzi, who failed to win a seat in the 2008 election.
